This course introduces second-year EFL students to the study of literary texts through selected works of fiction, poetry, and drama. Students will explore how writers use elements such as plot, character, setting, imagery, and symbolism to convey meaning and evoke emotion. Through guided reading and class discussion, learners will develop critical thinking, interpretation, and analytical writing skills in English. The course emphasizes literary vocabulary, textual analysis, and oral expression. A final project will require students to examine two short stories and one poem in the light of relevant literary movements to demonstrate a deeper understanding of literary form and context.
