**Terminology of International Law and Diplomatic Relations**

 **Course Description (English):**

This course introduces graduate students to the core terminology, concepts, and frameworks of **International Law and Diplomatic Relations**.
It aims to enhance students’ comprehension and use of legal vocabulary in academic and professional contexts, focusing on the legal language employed in treaties, conventions, and diplomatic practice.
Throughout the course, students will explore key areas such as **the sources and principles of international law, state sovereignty, the role of international organizations, and the norms governing diplomatic relations**.
By engaging with authentic legal texts and case studies, students will develop the ability to interpret, analyze, and apply international legal terminology with precision.

 **Course Objectives:**

1. To familiarize students with the essential terminology of international law and diplomacy.
2. To strengthen students’ linguistic and conceptual understanding of international legal instruments.
3. To enable accurate interpretation and use of English legal terms in research and communication.
4. To provide an overview of the institutions and mechanisms that shape international legal and diplomatic practice.
5. To encourage critical thinking and comparative analysis between international and domestic legal systems.

**Learning Outcomes:**

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

* Identify and define key terms in international law and diplomatic relations.
* Explain the role and hierarchy of legal sources, including treaties and customary international law.
* Analyze international legal documents using appropriate terminology.
* Demonstrate understanding of the principles governing diplomacy and international cooperation.
* Communicate complex legal concepts accurately in English and Arabic contexts.

يعد مقياس القانون الدبلوماسي والقنصلي من المقاييس الأساسية في تخصص القانون الدولي والعلاقات الدبلوماسية، إذ يهدف إلى تعريف الطلبة بالإطار القانوني الذي ينظم النشاط الدبلوماسي والقنصلي بين الدول، وفقًا لمبادئ القانون الدولي العام، ويُعالج هذا المقياس تطوّر العمل الدبلوماسي عبر التاريخ، وأشكاله، وأشخاصه، والاتفاقيات الدولية التي تؤطره، لاسيما اتفاقيتي فيينا للعلاقات الدبلوماسية لسنة 1961 وللعلاقات القنصلية لسنة 1963.

وفي السياق الجزائري، يُمكن هذا المقياس الطلبة من فهم كيفية تنظيم الدولة الجزائرية لعلاقاتها الخارجية ومهام بعثاتها الدبلوماسية والقنصلية في الخارج، ودور وزارة الشؤون الخارجية في تسييرها. كما يسلّط الضوء على أهمية الدبلوماسية الجزائرية في الدفاع عن السيادة الوطنية، وترقية التعاون الدولي، وحماية الجالية الجزائرية في الخارج ضمن احترام القواعد والأعراف الدولية.
